Introduction to Majors

Process Equipment and Control Engineering

It obtained national engineering education specialty certification in 2018 and was approved as a national first-class specialty construction site in 2019. Additionally, in 2020, the course “Process Equipment Design” was recognized as a provincial-level “Ideological and Political Education” demonstrative course, and in 2022, it was awarded provincial-level “Ideological and Political Education” demonstrative specialty and teaching team status.

Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation

The major in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation has its origins in the establishment of the Food Machinery major in 1983, which was later renamed Mechanical Design and Manufacturing in 1992 and further modified to Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation in 1998. In 2012, this program was approved as one of the second batch pilot majors for the Outstanding Engineer Education Program in Sichuan Province. In 2018, it was included in the first batch of national projects for the construction of new engineering disciplines. In 2019, it was designated as a first-class undergraduate program construction site in Sichuan Province. In 2021, the program successfully passed the national engineering education accreditation, and in 2022, it was approved as a national first-class undergraduate program construction site.

Mechanical and Electronic Engineering

The Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering was established in 2016, tasked with undergraduate education in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, contributing to graduate training in mechanical engineering, and engaging in scientific research and community service in the field of intelligent manufacturing equipment and systems. The program is dedicated to cultivating individuals with a strong sense of patriotism, dedication, social responsibility, excellent engineering qualities, professional ethics, and humanistic and scientific literacy.

Industrial Design

The Industrial Design program was established in the year 2000, focusing on training students in various areas such as product design (including equipment, daily necessities, and cultural and creative products), interaction design, graphic design, packaging design, and exhibition design. In 2009, it was designated as a university-level characteristic construction program. In 2016, the program started offering graduate studies in art design with a specialization in product design. In 2020, the program was restructured to offer a professional degree in Industrial Design Engineering. In 2018, the undergraduate program underwent quality inspection and was recognized as a superior program. In 2021, it was accredited as a provincial-level first-class undergraduate program construction site.

Vehicle Engineering

The vehicle engineering discipline focuses on talent cultivation and scientific research in traditional advantageous specialties, such as vehicle CAD/CAE, vehicle structures, and vehicle control. It actively aligns with the dual-city economy and industry demands, expanding research in new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles. The discipline aims to foster individuals with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in natural sciences, engineering technology, and vehicle engineering. This includes a well-rounded foundation in mechanical, electronic, and control engineering, as well as specialized knowledge and skills. Graduates are expected to be highly skilled engineering professionals and technical managers in various aspects of automotive product design and development, manufacturing, testing and inspection, scientific research, and management decision-making.
