(1) Introduction of Research Platform
The institute possesses the Engineering Laboratory for Utilization of Mining Tailings in Sichuan Province, the Key Laboratory of Process Equipment and Control Engineering in Sichuan Province, the Comprehensive Experimental Teaching Center of Mechanical Engineering in Sichuan Province, and the Simulation Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center in Sichuan Province. In collaboration with regional enterprises, it has established two provincial engineering technology centers: the "Sichuan Province Advanced Manufacturing Technology Engineering Research Center for the Whole Process of Mobile Terminal" and the "Sichuan Province Engineering Research Center for Functional Polyester Materials." To support the academic disciplines, the institute has established seven research teams, including the Institute of Pressure Equipment and Safety Technology, the Institute of Mechanics and Fluid Computational Research, the Institute of Digital Design and Application, the Institute of Modern Design Theory and Methods, the Institute of CNC Technology and Intelligent Manufacturing, the Institute of New Material Forming Technology, and the Industrial Innovation Design Institute. Currently, it possesses over 1800 sets of equipment and instruments, such as Intelligent Manufacturing Systems, MTS Electro-Hydraulic Servo Fatigue Testing Machines, Hydraulic Load Sensing Control Multifunctional Test Benches, Coordinate Measuring Machines, Laser Particle Size Analyzers, and Multi-pass Testing Platforms.
(2) Introduction to Research Teams
Pressure Equipment and Safety Technology Research Team
The Pressure Equipment and Safety Technology Research Team consists of 12 members, including 4 professors and 5 associate professors. The main research directions include:1) Research and Development of Non-metallic Pressure Equipment Safety and Reliability Assurance Technology, 2) Research on Low-grade Energy Utilization Technology, 3) Standard Development and Standardization Promotion Services.
Mechanics and Fluid Computing Research Team
The research team of Mechanics and Fluid Computing currently has 8 researchers, including 2 professors, 4 associate professors, and 7 PhDs. The main research directions include:
1) Research on fluid field simulation
2) Mechanical analysis of nuclear grade pressure vessel equipment
3) Experimental and simulation research on structural fatigue fracture
4) Seismic analysis of large structures
Digital Design and Application Research Team
The digital design and application research team currently has 24 researchers, including 5 professors, 7 associate professors, and 12 doctoral degree teachers. The team conducts research in the following fields: 1) Multiphase flow theory and simulation, 2) Filtering, separation, purification technology and intelligent equipment 3) Green environmental protection and circular economy technology 4) Ecological emergency and security technology.
Modern Design Theory and Method Research Team
The research team for modern design theory and methods currently has 17 researchers, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors, and 4 doctoral degree teachers. The main research directions include Key technologies for high-speed train design, technology for high-speed trains, Special machining technology and machine tools and Finite element simulation design technology.
Material forming technology research team
The research team for new material forming technology currently has 11 fixed researchers, including 1 professor, 6 associate professors, and 10 doctoral degree teachers. The main research directions include: 1) Research on new material forming processes; 2) Numerical simulation and visualization research; 3) Research on the mechanical behavior of new materials and structures; 4) Preparation and application of high-performance powder alloy materials.
Industrial Innovation Design Research Team
The industrial innovation design research team consists of 9 members, including 2 professors, 3 associate professors, and 4 lecturers. The team conducts research in industrial product image design, intelligent equipment interaction design, packaging design, cultural and tourism product design, interaction design, and intelligent lighting design, taking into account the local economic needs of Zigong and Yibin, as well as the regional economic needs of Chengdu and Chongqing.
