On the morning of January 10, 2019, Songchai, mayor of Thungsong City, Lokhun Province,Thailand, and his delegation visited SUSE.President Tuo Xianguo and Vice President Yan Jie met the guests and had an exchange of views.

President Tuo Xianguo welcomed Songchai and his party. He said that Thailand and China are friendly countries with historical origins. Our university is the southernmost university in Sichuan and a comprehensive and international university close to Thailand. He briefly introduced the development of our school, and pointed out that SUSE is currently developing rapidly, with more than 500 international students. Around the international development, SUSE is also constantly seeking new ideas and carrying out various cooperation with more countries. He hopes to promote the diplomatic relations between the two countries, promote the cooperation between Thungsong City, Zigong City and Yibin City, and make contributions to the local political, economic and cultural development of the two countries through various forms of exchanges such as mutual visits of international students and scientific and technological cooperation.

Songchai thanks for our warm reception. He said that Thailand and China have made good friends with each other. Coming to SUSE is like an exchange of family visits, which is very cordial.He pointed out that language is an important medium for exchanges between the two countries, and hoped that our university would vigorously support the establishment of Thungsong Chinese Center, so that more excellent students could study in Sichuan University of light and chemical technology in the future.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the cooperation, the establishment of the Chinese Center, the dispatch of Chinese volunteers, the enrollment of international students and the exchange of teachers and students.
