On the morning of October 11th, the launching ceremony of the 2024 Tianfu Book Fair Yibin Branch was held at Yibin Tianli School. The Publicity Department of the Yibin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China officially invited the international students of SUSE to participate in the event. Ten international students from Russia, Brazil, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan attended the activity.
After a speech made by Lei Tao, member of the Standing Committee of the Yibin Municipal Committee and head of the Publicity Department, Mr. Jun Gang from the Yibin Media Center and children from Street Dance Association of the Yibin Sanjiang new district performed the rap and street dance "Books and Life." Attendees also watched the short video "Books and Culture in Yibin." At the event, the bookstore Xinhua Wenxuan donated some books to Yibin Tianli School, and the latter, in turn, also donated some books to Wuxing Junior Middle School of Xingwen County. The student representative from Yibin Tianli School presented inspiring calligraphy works to the student representative from Wuxing Junior Middle School of Xingwen County. Teachers and students from Yibin Tianli School and Xufu Experimental Primary School sang together the song of "Grateful Heart."
After the representative of " Reading Advocates in Yibin" read the initiative, the international students of SUSE and students from Yibin Tianli School together performed the book-themed recitation "Yibin @ World", which ended with the phrase "Books nourish Tianfu; reform writes a new chapter;Yibin marches forward under the world's spotlight." Through the recitation, the international students not only understood the theme of the Tianfu Book Fair—"Books nourish Tianfu; reform writes a new chapter"—but also learned more about Yibin. They felt the positive atmosphere of reading promoted by Sichuan Province, expressing their intention to read more and better understand Chinese culture through books.
