On the morning of September 11, Karlo Kopaliani, President of Georgian Technical University, Tamila Kurashvili, Director of the Administrative Office of Georgian Technical University, and Yu Hua, President of the Georgian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, paid a friendly visit to Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) to jointly discuss the cooperation and joint construction plans. Tuo Xianguo, President of SUSE, warmly received the guests in meeting room of the Office Center on the Libaihe Campus.
Tuo Xianguo first extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by President Karlo Kopaliani on behalf of SUSE. Tuo Xianguo said that Georgia, which is located at the southern foot of the Caucasus Mountains and on the coast of the Black Sea, has served as a bridge connecting the East and the West since ancient times. In recent years, cultural exchanges between China and Georgia have become increasingly close, and cooperation in fields such as education, tourism, sports, and publishing has been continuously deepened. SUSE also has a deep friendship with Georgian Technical University. The two sides have exchanged visits many times, and the bond between the two schools has been continuing through continuous dialogues and exchanges. He hoped that both sides would always cooperate sincerely and seek common development, and that more cooperation potential could be tapped in the future. He also explained the relevant matters regarding the joint construction of the Confucius Institute by both sides.
After expressing his gratitude for SUSE's warm reception, Karlo Kopaliani briefly introduced the basics of Georgian Technical University. he said that although Georgia has a small territorial area, it boasts a very long history. Georgian Technical University is particularly outstanding in engineering technology, and its chemistry major has a history of more than 100 years of school running. The two sides have reached a consensus on jointly constructing the Confucius Institute. He believed that there would be more cooperation opportunities with Sichuan University of Science and Engineering in the future and invited the school to visit Georgia.
Subsequently, the two sides had exchanges and discussions on further cooperation. SUSE presented well-prepared gifts to the guests who had come from afar and took group photos.
