Recently, Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) successfully concluded the “Chinese Bridge” online group exchange project titled “Exploring the World of Lanterns and Perceiving Southern Sichuan Culture”. This project, which was approved by the Ministry of Education’s Center for Language Education and Development (CLED), received unique learning results report video from students at partner Brazilian universities, marking the successful completion of the program.

This online group mainly recruited students from our partner institutions in Brazil, including the Federal University of Mato Grosso State, University of Brasília, Federal University of Pernambuco, Federal University of Santa Maria, and Federal University of Pelotas. During the project, it also attracted Chinese enthusiasts from Germany, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Laos, and other countries who registered as group participants and voluntarily studied related courses.

Based on previous editions, this edition of the Chinese Bridge project adjusted its course sections and content, focusing on student needs and experience, refining teaching methods, and enhancing course quality. Teacher Xie, who taught the live-streamed language classes, noted, “Students were highly engaged during the lessons and actively asked questions to teachers. There was also lively discussion among participants”. Teacher Wu commented, “Since our language courses were paired with cultural courses, many students developed a strong interest in Zigong’s lantern culture. We also recommended videos for them to watch.”

According to statistics, 154 people registered for this online group exchange project, with 117 effectively participating, meeting our university's target of 100 participants. The viewing rate for cultural courses exceeded 90%, backend survey data showed that 90% of participants rated the online group as “satisfactory and shared their learning insights.
