"Chinese Bridge" is a competition hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education. The submission of the works of the 2nd "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe--Storytelling contest was completed in the first half of 2024. Three works submitted by international students at Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) were exhibited on the "Chinese Bridge" official website.

The "Chinese Bridge" Storytelling Contest is open to those with an interest in Chinese language who are residents in China. Submissions must be from non-native Chinese speakers who are not of Chinese nationality. The works must be in the form of a narrative in Chinese, and the video content must be original. This year's storytelling contest is hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education, organized by the Chinese Alliance/Wuzhou Hanfeng Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Immigration Affairs Service Center of the National Immigration Administration. The storytelling initiative aims to promote cultural exchanges between diverse ethnic groups worldwide and deepen understanding of the Chinese language and culture.

WANTCHAN SU JULIA, a Brazilian student studying at SUSE, shared her experience in learning Chinese as a Brazilian Chinese and her travel experiences in China. She expressed her aspiration to contribute to the friendship between China and Brazil. TRUONG TRINH KHAI, LAI VU HUNG, VU THUY LINH, TRUONG TRINH KHOI, and DO ANH THUY, who are Vietnamese students studying at  SUSE, offered their perspectives on China. They discussed the merits of China's higher education system, the sophistication of its transportation infrastructure, the rapidity of its economic growth, the quality of its public facilities, and the intricacies of Chinese classical dance. The video presentation showcased the architectural splendor and the natural beauty of the campuses of SUSE. TRUONG TRINH KHAI, a Vietnamese student studying at SUSE, proceeded to discuss the subject of language learning. He believed that learning languages can facilitate cross-cultural understanding, bridge the gaps between different cultures and civilizations, and pave the way for a harmonious and prosperous future.

The three works are exhibited on the official website of "Chinese Bridge", showcasing the active learning of Chinese culture by our international students and their personal experiences of studying in China and at Sichuan University of Science and Engineering.
