The meeting was an online conference held with the objective of promoting substantial cooperation following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between SUSE National Science Park and Düzce Technopark of Turkey in January of this year. The online meeting was attended by İbrahim Gündüz, head of the International Cooperation Coordination Department of the Düzce Technopark; Ms. Zhang Jie, head of the International Cooperation Department of Tianfu International Technology Transfer Center; Zhang Xiaowen, director of SUSE Science Park Management Office; Wu Hao and Dong Liang, deputy directors; and other department or section chiefs. The meeting was chaired by Professor Shangguan Yangke of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the International School of SUSE.
Mr. Gündüz, on behalf of the Düzce Technopark, provided an overview of the development status, functional orientation, and potential collaboration opportunities of the Düzce Technopark. Mr. Zhang Xiaowen made a presentation of SUSE's fundamental position and disciplinary capabilities, along with a showcase of its notable scientific and technological advancements in the domains of new chemical materials, food and light industry, and electronic information. Additionally, she gave a brief account of the university's science park, its requirements for external collaboration and knowledge exchange, the technological advancements within the park, and the outcomes of the incubation process. She hoped that both parties could reach an agreement on external cooperation, align their respective demands, and transform achievements in the park, thereby jointly promoting the successful implementation of cooperation programs.
Zhang Jie provided an update on the preliminary coordination between the Tianfu International Technology Transfer Centre and the Düzce Technopark. She reaffirmed her commitment to maintaining communication and contact with the Düzce Technopark and our university's science park with the objective of identifying further opportunities from the upcoming Sino-Turkish cooperation projects.
The participants conducted discussions on the forthcoming work plan and the specifics of their respective science and technology parks. Both parties expressed their desire to engage in a wide range of exchanges and cooperation in areas such as scientific research, technology transfer, talent cultivation and business incubation, in accordance with the terms set out in the signed memorandum of understanding. The goal is to collaborate on promoting technological innovation and technology transfer.
The Düzce Teknopark of Turkey was established in 2011 based on Düzce University in Turkey. Its core activities are university industrialization, research and development, innovation cooperation and international technology transfer. The objective is to establish a comprehensive ecosystem for the transformation of research achievements. To support the innovation ecosystem, several institutions have been established, including the Düzce University Technology Transfer Office, Incubation Centre, Design Innovation and Prototype Centre, and the European Enterprise Network. The role of these entities is to maintain an ecosystem conducive to business startups. The Düzce Teknopark is now home to over 1,000 entrepreneurs and provides services to more than 70 companies, playing an important role in regional development.
This exchange meeting is a proactive initiative of SUSE's National Science Park in response to the "Belt and Road Initiative " international cooperation initiative and SUSE's open educational philosophy. In the subsequent step, both parties will work together to drive technological innovation cooperation between China and Turkey.
