Introduction to Majors

Chemical Engineering and Processing

The fundamental mission of this program is to instill strong moral character in its students. Its ultimate goal is to cultivate well-rounded individuals with comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills, who can serve as qualified builders and successors for the socialist cause. Rooted in South Sichuan, centered in Sichuan, and oriented towards the western regions while influencing the whole nation, this program aims to contribute to the development of the chemical industry and related industries in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. 

It focuses on nurturing graduates with excellent humanistic qualities, professional ethics, teamwork abilities, and innovative spirit. These individuals will be capable of conducting scientific research, technology development, technical services, process and engineering design, and production organization and management in the field of chemical engineering and related industries. They will be high-quality applied engineering and technical professionals, adaptable to the needs of the chemical engineering and related industries.

 

Applied Chemistry

This program is rooted in Sichuan, with a national outlook, serving the needs of both national and regional economic development and social progress. Its primary goal is to cultivate well-rounded individuals who possess comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills. Graduates of this program are expected to have a strong sense of social responsibility and excellent professional ethics.

They will have a solid understanding of fundamental chemistry and chemical engineering knowledge, basic theories, and essential skills. They will be capable of working in various fields such as fine chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals, environmental sciences, and more. Their roles may include new product development, analytical testing, technology development (and technical services), process and engineering design, quality control, and production organization (and production management). These individuals are high-quality applied professionals with a strong foundation who can contribute effectively to their respective industries.

 

Energy and Chemical Engineering

This program is fundamentally dedicated to the cultivation of individuals with strong moral character and the goal of producing qualified builders for socialist development, who are well-rounded and reliable successors. In alignment with the demands of national strategic emerging industries and considering the new energy industry layout in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, this program aims to provide students with a solid foundation in the basic theories, essential skills, and specialized knowledge of energy chemical engineering and related disciplines. 

Graduates from this program will be equipped with the capability to work in various aspects of new energy, such as efficient and clean energy conversion and utilization, new photovoltaic materials, and new energy batteries. They will engage in activities such as developing new technologies, designing processes and equipment, implementing technological transformations, and managing production operations. These individuals will possess innovative thinking and practical skills, making them valuable applied talents in the field of new energy.

 

Pharmaceutical Engineering

The Pharmaceutical Engineering program was established in the year 2000 and is one of the earliest universities in the country to offer this specialization. It is one of the early universities in the Southwest region to have a master's degree program in Pharmaceutical Engineering. It is also a pilot program for the "Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Plan" in Sichuan Province and received support as part of the "First-Class Specialty Acceleration Program" in 2018. In 2019, it was selected as a first-class specialty in Sichuan Province, became a national first-class specialty construction site in 2020, and successfully passed the professional engineering certification in 2023. 

This program is fundamentally dedicated to the cultivation of well-rounded individuals with a strong moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor foundation. Its overarching goal is to produce qualified builders for the socialist cause and reliable successors. Rooted in Sichuan, it serves not only the Southwest but also other regions, catering to the needs of local socio-economic development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and related fields. The program aims to nurture highly qualified, application-oriented engineering and technical professionals with excellent humanistic, scientific, engineering skills, and innovation awareness. These individuals are trained to work in various aspects of drug research, development, engineering design, production, and technical management.

 

Biopharmaceutical

Biopharmaceuticals is a strategic emerging discipline established by the Chinese government in 2011. Currently, there are only around twenty universities across the country approved by the Ministry of Education to offer enrollment in this field, and our university has been admitting students since 2012.

This program aims to train professionals who can contribute to the national biopharmaceutical industry, as well as the socio-economic development of the Southwest region. Graduates from this program possess a healthy body and mind, along with strong humanistic, scientific, and engineering qualities, as well as innovative awareness. They have the capabilities for product development, technology transformation, engineering design, management, and service. These individuals are well-equipped to work in advanced specialized roles in the biopharmaceutical and related fields, including design, production, management, new technology research, and new product development. They are not only highly skilled professionals but also well-rounded individuals, fitting the criteria of qualified builders for socialist development.
