Food Industry Technology Research Institute

The Food Industry Technology Research Institute of Sichuan University of Science & Engineering (hereinafter referred to as the Food Research Institute) was established in October 2014. The Food Research Institute adheres to the concept of "government promotion, university leadership, enterprise support, and market-oriented operation", with applied research and technological innovation as its core goals, and promoting regional economic and social development as its fundamental purpose. It carries out work such as tackling technical difficulties in the food industry, talent training, and product development, serving food enterprises. The main service methods are as follows:

1. Technological breakthroughs

Organize a technical team to participate in research and development or serve as guidance for addressing technical issues in the enterprise, jointly solving technical problems, formulating quality standards, and conducting food safety analysis and control. Every month, 3-5 professors and PhDs are selected to visit enterprises and provide information consulting and technical services.

2. New product development and process improvement

Mainly focusing on the research and development of forward-looking and common application technologies, its technology research and development mechanism mainly includes various forms such as self research and development, technology introduction, and collaborative research with industry and academia. Self research and development mainly involves establishing a market information network platform, collecting and screening market technology demand information, utilizing the scientific and technological resources of the Food Industry Technology Research Institute, and following the market-oriented project operation mode to carry out integrated innovation and re innovation of new technologies, new processes, and new products guided by market demand.

3. Joint application for vertical major technology projects

The selection of projects adheres to the guidance of industrial demand. In response to the technical problems and industry technical difficulties existing in enterprises, we jointly apply for various government scientific research projects, jointly apply for achievement appraisal and award. For new and highly feasible projects, we can directly convert achievements in enterprises and promote the connection between the technology chain and the industrial chain.

4. Talent training

Focusing on practical training needs and solutions for enterprise technical issues, food safety knowledge popularization, etc., different specialized training systems are carried out for different problems. Through standardized training, practical training, and consulting services throughout the process, the company promotes the improvement of business performance and employee capabilities. Actively developing multi-point remote real-time training platforms and expanding practical training bases, with a focus on improving enterprise performance, to create multi platform services for the comprehensive improvement of enterprise employees.
