In order to further strengthen the academic exchange, educational cooperation, humanities exchange and emotional exchange between our university and Brazilian higher education, and further enrich our partners in Brazil, after preliminary communication and preparation, Sichuan University of Science and Engineering and Brazilian Federal University of Bernambuco held an online cooperation signing ceremony on October 18th.
On behalf of SUSE, President Tuo Xianguo extended a sincere welcome to all the guests! He said that China-Brazil relations has a long history, and SUSE has had frequent interactions and close contacts with Brazil in recent years. In 2020, SUSE set up a Portuguese major, held a dialogue meeting with Mato Grosso, Brazil's higher education innovation cooperation in 2021, signed a higher education cooperation agreement with Mato Grosso, Brazil's international exchange center, and began to carry out inter-school cooperation with many universities in Brazil, implementing a variety of online activities with high efficiency, which provided opportunities and experiences for closer educational exchanges and cooperation between the two places, better facing the common problems and challenges of educational cooperation, and sharing and planning educational innovation and development together. This time, we signed a contract with a new partner, the Federal University of Bernambuco, Brazil. The two universities will broaden the scope of cooperation in language learning, teacher exchange, student exchange and resource sharing. When the epidemic situation improves, SUSE is very much looking forward to exchange visits and discuss future cooperation and development between the two universities.
Subsequently, Professor Carlo Leandro and Professor Pedro Carlisle, associate vice presidents of Pernambuco Federal University, spoke. They highlighted the international cooperation and exchange of Bernambuco Federal University, and talked about the school's high expectation and joy for this cooperation.
The successful completion of the signing ceremony enabled the two sides to complete in-depth exchanges and reach many consensuses, and also established a profound friendship, which took an important step for the fruitful cooperation in the future.
