Vice President Luo Huibo led a delegation to visit Russia and Georgia

In order to consolidate the achievements of cooperation with overseas universities, explore the establishment of a new circle of international friends, and further promote the high-quality development of international education in schools, Vice President Luo Huibo led a delegation to visit Russia and Georgia from June 18 to 25.

During the eight-day trip, Luo Huibo and his delegation visited six well-known universities, including St. Petersburg State University of Economics, St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg State Normal University, Russian State University of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Moscow State University, and Georgia Technical University, and exchanged views and reached cooperation intentions on personnel training, scientific research cooperation, and building a language and cultural center.

2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Georgia, and it is also the year when Sichuan Province and Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, formally established international friendly provincial and municipal relations. During his visit to Georgia, Luo Huibo and his party were warmly received by the president of Georgia Technical University, David Gugennizer, and important management and famous professors of the school participated in the discussion and exchange. The two sides agreed to start all-round cooperation in exchange programs, the formation of joint scientific research teams and the introduction of high-level teachers, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

This exchange and investigation has achieved substantial results and opened a new chapter for international cooperation and exchange in our school.

Wu Yadong, director of the Science and Technology Department of the school and dean of the Computer College, Ma Yi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the School of Biological Engineering, and Fu Qingshan, deputy director (vice president) of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (International College), accompanied the visit.
