In September 2020, the Provincial and Ministerial Co-founded Collaborative Innovation Center for the Cohesion and Global Dissemination of Chinese Multi-Ethnic Cultures (referred to as the "Center"), initiated by Sichuan University and co-established by Peking University, Minzu University of China and other collaboration units, was approved and recognized by the Ministry of Education as the only provincial and ministerial co-founded collaborative innovation center for social sciences and humanities in Sichuan Province. To further implement the spirit of the "2011 Plan" document issued by the Ministry of Education, and to explore a collaborative model for driving and serving the development of local colleges and universities, the Center and the Sichuan University of Science & Engineering, based on the cooperative principle of "equal cooperation, resource sharing, and mutual benefit", with the aim of promoting the outstanding traditional Chinese culture and inheriting the genes of the Chinese traditional cultural values, will jointly establish the "Research Center for the Inheritance and Development of Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture". The Research Center will serve both as a branch center under Sichuan University and an independent research center, with a planned construction period from January 1, 2024, to January 1, 2028, spanning a total of four years. Mr. Chen Xingsheng will serve as Honorary Chairman of the Academic Committee of the branch center, Zhangfa as Chairman, Gao Xiaolin and Wan Yi as Director and Executive Director, respectively.
