Chinese Language and Literature

Foreign Literature

This is the core course for undergraduate students majoring in Chinese Language and Literature. The course content is rich, including Ancient Egyptian Literature, Ancient Babylonian Literature, Ancient Hebrew Literature, Ancient Indian Literature, Ancient Greek and Roman Literature, and Modern Contemporary Literature (six major ideological trends). Involved in many countries, the course has a long duration and rich content, and is diverse. There are numerous first-class writers and works. This course makes students have a comprehensive understanding of the main trends and writers of foreign literature, which not only enriches their knowledge but also increases their interest in literature. The course handles the relationship between drawing on foreign literary experience and inheriting traditional Chinese literature in the vertical and horizontal comparison of Chinese and foreign literary works. It aims to make students to cultivate their character, enhance their inner growth, and establish a correct outlook on life and improve their aesthetic ability, appreciation ability, analytical ability, and writing ability.

Modern Chinese

This is a core compulsory course of Chinese Language and Literature, with the characteristics of instrumental courses, theoretical courses, and practical courses. It systematically teaches the characteristics, structural rules, and application skills of modern Chinese, and has the characteristics of instrumental courses, theoretical courses, and practical courses. This course teaches basic theories and knowledge about modern Chinese, strengthens training in basic skills, and cultivates and improves students' level of understanding, analysis, and application of modern Chinese, which will lay a solid foundation for them to learn other courses and engage in language and writing work, language teaching work, and modern Chinese research in the future. At the same time, Modern Chinese is also a basic course in various subjects. Mastering modern Chinese can lay a solid foundation for learning courses in other subjects, and also has a promoting effect on learning other courses such as Introduction to Linguistics, Writing, and Modern Literature.

Ancient Chinese Literature

This is an important basic course for Chinese Language and Literature, and also a core compulsory course. This course shows the history, achievements, and characteristics of literature by introducing the writers and their works that have emerged in history. By analyzing specific writers and their works, it reveals their creative characteristics, achievements, and their position in literary history. By comparing the writers and works in history, it can reveal their inherent relationship, and discover the laws of literary creation and development, and deepen our understanding of literary history.  

Introduction to Linguistics

This is a compulsory course of Chinese Language and Literature. This course introduces basic theoretical knowledge about the nature, structural rules, language evolution rules, and the relationship between language and writing of human language. It focuses on examining the common laws and universal characteristics of human language, rather than studying a specific language. The main difference between it and specific language courses such as Modern Chinese and Ancient Chinese is that it introduces a general and systematic theory and rules summarized from specific language phenomena, and uses this theory to guide the learning and research of various specific languages.  

Ancient Chinese

This is a basic and compulsory course of Chinese Language and Literature, and also an instrumental course. By learning this course, it lays a foundation for further learning of professional courses and professional improvement courses in the future. As undergraduate students majoring in Chinese Language and Literature, we should acquire the necessary basic knowledge of Ancient Chinese through this course, cultivate the ability to read and appreciate simple classical Chinese, in order to better inherit and promote excellent national culture. "Ancient Chinese" has a close connection with Ancient Chinese Literature and Ancient Chinese Culture in the disciplinary and professional structure. As a discipline, Ancient Chinese is important in the fields of literature, history, and philosophy in higher education institutions.  

Literary Theory

This is a compulsory course for undergraduate students majoring in Chinese Language and Literature. This course has strong theoretical basis and provides guidance for the study of literary courses. However, it also requires a large amount of literary practice to continuously enrich and develop its theory. The teaching purpose of this course is to enable students to initially master the basic theories of literature, have a correct and comprehensive understanding of literary phenomena, literary language, literary writing, literary reading, literary criticism, and other issues. On the basis of having a certain knowledge of literary history and literary reading accumulation, they can analyze literary phenomena, improve cultural literacy, and strengthen theoretical cultivation, thereby expanding knowledge and cultivating abilities.  

Aesthetics

Aesthetics is an important basic theoretical course in the undergraduate teaching plan of Chinese Language and Literature, and also an important theoretical courses in this major. This course elaborates on the basic issues of aesthetics based on the Practical Ontology of Marxism, taking aesthetic activities as the starting point and main research object.   

Philology

This is a basic and compulsory course of Chinese Language and Literature. By learning this course, it lays a foundation for further studying other professional courses and professional improvement courses in the future. Philology has a close connection with Ancient Chinese Literature, Ancient Chinese Culture, and Ancient Chinese Language in the disciplinary and professional structure. As a discipline, Philology is important in the fields of literature, history, and philosophy in higher education institutions.    

Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature

This is a basic course commonly offered in Chinese major in ordinary higher education institutions. Modern and contemporary literature is a part of Chinese literature, and is the core course of Chinese Language and Literature. By learning the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature, and a series of modern and contemporary Chinese literary works and writers, it strengthens students' mastery and application of Modern Chinese Language and Literature, enhances their perception and understanding of modern Chinese culture, cultivates their modern cultural taste and aesthetic taste, trains their ability to analyze, appreciate, and comment on contemporary Chinese writers and works, and thus improves their professional and humanistic abilities, to lay a solid foundation for student employment and postgraduate entrance examination. 

Basic Writing

This is one of the core courses of Chinese Language and Literature. This course specifically analyze the elements and stylistic norms of articles, explore the patterns of perception, thinking, and transition in the process of writing, explore the construction of a thinking operation model for writing; explore writing methods and techniques, and explore the internal and external characteristics of various literary genres, as well as the techniques and methods of writing modernity.  

 Practical Writing

This is a course for learning, researching, and training in application document writing, and is also one of the core professional courses of Chinese Language and Literature. This course has distinct applicability, utility, and practicality. This course is conducted through teacher lectures and student practical training, mainly including five special subjects: theoretical knowledge of practical writing, official documents of party and government, daily affairs documents, special documents, and campus documents and employment documents for undergraduates. It aims to make students understand the characteristics of professional and commonly used documents.

History (Normal)

Ancient Chinese History

 By comprehensively and systematically introducing the development status of research on ancient Chinese history, the debates on major issues, and different academic schools (including different academic viewpoints, main representatives of each school, and their significant research achievements), the course aims to help students accurately grasp the inherent laws of historical science, accumulate rich academic information, master scientific research methods, and lay a solid foundation for engaging in historical research.

 Chinese Modern History

It mainly introduces the development process of ancient Chinese historical thought and reveals the laws of historical development. At the same time, it explains the characteristics of the times presented in the development process of Chinese historiography and the impact of historical achievements on society.

Modern Chinese History

 It systematically explains the history from the May Fourth Movement in 1919 to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. The textbook revolves around major historical events such as the May Fourth Movement, the founding of the Communist Party of China, the National Revolution of China, the War of Resistance Against Japan, the downfall of the National Government in Nanjing, and the founding of the People's Republic of China. It reveals the unremitting exploration of the Chinese people for national independence and the liberation of the people. It involves economy, politics, military, diplomacy and ideological culture and is the modern part of China's general history.

History of the People's Republic of China

It mainly explains the history of the founding, consolidation, and development of the People's Republic of China. The main theme is the development history of the construction of the People's Republic of China, involving various aspects of development such as politics, economy, society, culture, education, diplomacy, and national defense.

 Ancient World History

 This course is a basic theoretical course aiming at consolidating, deepening, and expanding knowledge of ancient world history. Through this theoretical teaching process, it can make students enhance their understanding of general history and gain a deeper understanding of the development of ancient world history and the culture of the ancient world. It strengthens students’ ability to access and correctly use various literature and materials, and establish a temporal and dialectical materialist view of students majoring in History.

Ancient Chinese Economic History

 It is one of the most important special history courses besides dynastic history. It focuses on the ancient Chinese economy, presents the characteristics of the traditional Chinese economy in different stages of development, and the general laws of ancient Chinese economic development. By analyzing the historical process of ancient Chinese economic development, it aims to identify the trends, characteristics, and laws of China's modernization and marketization, analyze its experiences, and summarize its lessons, it helps students better understand the basic national conditions of China and provides valuable historical experiences for the modernization of China.  

History of Ancient Chinese Thought

It mainly introduces the changes in ancient Chinese thought, especially the influence of mainstream Chinese thought on the entire society.

 History of Chinese Historiography

 It mainly introduces the development process of ancient Chinese historical thought and reveals the laws of historical development. At the same time, it explains the characteristics of the times presented in the development process of Chinese historiography and the impact of historical achievements on society.

Radio and Television Studies

Theories of Journalism Science

This is an introductory course for all students majoring in journalism and communication. It is a basic theoretical course and also a core professional course. Through the explanation of basic journalism theory, it helps students to masterthe basic concepts of journalism, clarify the main categories of journalism, and establish correct news values. It enables students students to stand at the height of journalism, apply relevant knowledge of journalism to analyze news phenomena, and lay a theoretical foundation for future learning of journalism practice.  

 Communication Theory

This is a basic compulsory course of Radio and Television Studies Studies, which requires students to correctly understand the history and laws of the occurrence and development of communication in human society from the perspectives of dialectical materialism and historical materialism. It helps students systematically understand and master the basic concepts of communication studies, and systematically understand and master the basic theoretical content of mass communication.

Radio and Television Studies News Interviewing and Reporting

This is a basic and core course for undergraduate students majoring in Radio and Television Studies. The course plays an extremely important role in cultivating journalism talents. Interviewing and reporting are the most basic link of news business activities, and the level of interviewing is the most important indicator to evaluate the ability and overall level of a news practitioner. News interviewing is a basic skill that media practitioners must master.  

 Radio and Television Studies Writing

This is a basic course for undergraduate students majoring in Radio and Television Studies. The course plays an extremely important role in cultivating journalism talents. News writing is a basic link of broadcasting and television business activities, and the level of news writing is an important indicator to evaluate the news literacy of a news practitioner. News writing is a basic skill that media practitioners must master.  

 Radio and Television Studies Editing

This is a basic course for undergraduate students in Radio and Television Studies which combines theory with practice. This course plays a very important and fundamental role in cultivating high-quality television production talents. The theoretical teaching of this course should be closely combined with the analysis of film and television works.

Radio and Television Studies Program Planning

This is a basic course for undergraduate students majoring in Radio and Television Studies. Its important feature is strong practicality and pertinence. Through the study of this course, students can accurately grasp the basic theoretical system and framework of television program planning, which enables them to establish a scientific stance and perspective on television planning at the macro level, and have the basic planning ability to deal with various types of television programs at the micro level.  .

 News Photography

This is an important basic course of Journalism and Communication in universities. It mainly teaches professional knowledge such as photography technology and news photography theory to build a solid and systematic professional system. At the same time, the knowledge of composition and visual communication involved in this course has laid a theoretical foundation for subsequent courses such as TV Camera and TV Camera Practice.

Introduction to New Media

This is a basic course of Radio and Television Studies. By comprehensively and systematically teaching the concepts, characteristics, advantages, impacts, theoretical models, basic forms, operation of new media, and future development trends of new media, it can help students understand and master the types, communication characteristics, and development trends of new media, which will cultivate students' new media thinking, complete unique new media promotion, and improve their new media operation ability and comprehensive professional literacy.  

 New Media Practice

This is one of the courses of students majoring in Radio and Television Studies. This course aims to explore the basic laws and characteristics of the development of new media by combining the theory and practice. Students will learn the definition and classification of new media, understand the trends in the development of new media, and analyze the impact of user behavior and social interaction.

 Television Camera

This is a basic course of Radio and Television Studies. Based on students' knowledge of news photography, graphic composition, and color composition, it focuses on teaching television camera technology, the use of television visual language, and other knowledge. By learning this course, students can use cameras to shoot TV programs. More importantly, by analyzing excellent TV programs, they can cultivate their perception of beauty, improve their visual expression, and lay a foundation for subsequent professional courses such as TV program editing and production.
