Give Full Play to the Advantages of the Platform, Strengthen Academic Exchanges and Promote Cooperation and Development ---The Second China-India-Pakistan International Conference was held in SUSE

On October 28th, 2021an academic conference on the relations between China and neighboring countries under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, hosted by the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies, was held in the fourth conference room of Huidong Campus in Zigong. Online and offline guests gave wonderful academic speeches and conducted in-depth discussions on geopolitics, economic and trade cooperation, industrial development, cultural exchanges and educational cooperation between China and neighboring countries. The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by Professor Wu Bin, director of the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies.       

Professor Tuo Xianguo, president of SUSE, thanked all the experts for their strong support in his speech! He fully affirmed the achievements made by the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies and placed high hopes on the future development of the Center. He pointed out that the keynote speeches of the experts covered a wide range, rich in content and profound in thought. Everyone learned from each other, exchanged experiences and shared achievements, which also promoted the innovative development of the center and produced fruitful results.       

Around geopolitics, guests shared the hot issues of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the new situation of Sino-Indian relations, the current situation of Sino-Indian border issues, India's foreign strategy, India-Pacific strategy, the quadrilateral mechanism of the United States, Japan, India and Australia, and so on, with profound thoughts and brilliant ideas.       

Focusing on economic and trade cooperation, from a more practical point of view, guests expressed different views on the development experience of Indian generic drugs and its enlightenment to the development of pharmaceutical industry in Sichuan Province.

Focusing on people-to-people exchanges and educational development, guests explored a new way to promote inclusive growth with frugal innovation as the strategy from a new research perspective. The history, dynamics and prospects of China Pakistan space cooperation are discussed from the new research fields, showing ingenuity and benefiting a lot.

Associate Professor Li Yongmei, Executive Director of the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies, made concluding remarks. She pointed out that this academic seminar ended successfully with beautiful wishes and fascinating speeches. New and old friends exchanged ideas, reached consensus and established friendship, which took another important step for the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies to perform its duties better, carry out academic research and exchanges and cooperation, and continue to expand its influence. the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies will also continue to conduct research and discussion in more fields of "cooperation and development" between China and neighboring Counties.
