Wang Honghui, Party Secretary, led a delegation to visit Argentina and Brazil and achieved fruitful results

In order to thoroughly implement the concept of "Community of Shared Future for Mankind" and the "the belt and road initiative" initiative, our school has always attached great importance to international development and made open cooperation an important development strategy of our school. In order to thoroughly implement this strategy and deepen the profound friendship between our university and South American universities such as Brazil and Argentina, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of strategic partnership between China and Brazil, Wang Honghui, secretary of the Party Committee, led a delegation to visit Argentina and Brazil from October 19th to October 27th.

Wang Honghui and his party visited famous universities in South America, such as Ranus National University in Argentina, Mato Grosso State University in Brazil, Mato Grosso Federal University, Brasilia University, Pedro II Federal College, Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro, etc. At the same time, they visited Mato Grosso International Exchange Center in Brazil and China Embassy in Brazil, and introduced in detail the cooperation between our university and Brazilian universities in recent years.

Since our school officially signed a higher education cooperation agreement with Mato Grosso, Brazil on October 20th, 2021, we have carried out a series of cultural exchange activities with relevant universities in Mato Grosso, including the establishment of online Chinese-Portuguese language courses, student exchange and online group exchange program of Chinese Bridge, etc. This visit has also been highly valued by Pakistani universities. During his visit to Mato Grosso, Brazil, Wang Honghui and his party were accompanied by Rita Casia Oliveira Shillito, Director of the International Affairs Office of Mato Grosso. They had discussions with Rodrigo Bruno Zanni, Deputy Director of Mato Grosso State Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, Vera lucia Ma Kai La, President of Mato Grosso State University, Olja Ignacio, Associate Vice President of Mato Grosso State University, and Caroline Oliveira, Director of the Center for the Development of Chinese+Agricultural Science and Education of Mato Grosso Federal University, and held discussions on the co-construction of Confucius Institutes, the construction of Portuguese-speaking majors, inter-school cooperation, exchange visits between teachers and students, joint training and platform construction. At the meeting, our school signed a memorandum of cooperation with Mato Grosso State University.

During the visit to Brasilia, Secretary Wang Honghui and his party visited Mr. Wang Zhiwei, the Education Counselor of the Embassy of China in Brazil, and introduced the progress of our school's friendly cooperation with Brazilian universities in recent years and the plans for future higher education cooperation with Brazil. Counselor Wang affirmed our school's contribution in promoting the cooperation and development of China-Pakistan higher education in recent years. He pointed out that China-Pakistan cooperation in the field of education has great potential, and our school's international development has great potential in Brazil.

The fruitful visit has further strengthened the international exchanges and cooperation between our university and institutions of higher learning in South America, and has played a positive role in solidly promoting our school-opening strategy and international development. It has further consolidated and expanded the school's international cooperation network, helping the school to open to the outside world at a high level and cultivate international talents.
