On November 4th, the third "International Symposium on Relations between China and Neighboring Countries under the Framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization", hosted by Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies, was held in the administrative center of Libaihe Campus, Zigong. The opening ceremony was hosted by Li Yongmei, Executive Director of Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies. President Tuo Xianguo said in his speech that the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies has always followed the purpose of "Cooperation and Development". Only by living in harmony and win-win cooperation can academic prosperity last and peaceful development be guaranteed.
President Tuo Xianguo sincerely hopes that all the experts attending the meeting can speak freely and talk endlessly, transcend thinking barriers with ideological exchange and transcend political conflicts with academic mutual learning!
Focusing on the regional cooperation of Shanghai Cooperation in the context of the continuous deepening of the game between China and the United States, the guests at the meeting focused on the development path of India in the Indo-Pacific region, the challenge of Shanghai Cooperation Policy to the security of Central Asia, India's diplomatic relations in the perspective of the US "Indo-Pacific Strategy" and the comparative study of the pharmaceutical patent system between China and India, and the discussion was wide.
Focusing on the regional stability and development under the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the guests at the meeting focused on the basis, strategy and prospect of Sino-Indian cooperation to stabilize the energy supply chain, the struggle at the bottom of the power structure in South Asia and the dominance of the United States in public opinion in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, with a wide academic field.
Focusing on the opportunities and challenges of China's relations with neighboring countries under the background of "the belt and road initiative" initiative, the guests extended from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Afghanistan: strategic value, feasibility and challenges, the application of wisdom and rule of law in building harmonious relations between China and neighboring countries, the orientation and path of education for international students from India and Pakistan, the current situation and countermeasures of legal education for Pakistani students, the prospect of relations between East Timor and China and Australia, the challenges and responses of international education and scientific research cooperation in the era of limited globalization, and the research on the export of Chinese sports culture and the construction of harmonious peripheral relations.
Wu Bin, director of Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies, made a concluding speech. He hopes that every academic seminar will sprout some new breakthrough points, find some new research ideas, sum up some new research results, keep in mind the theme of "cooperation and development", and truly build the Center for China-India-Pakistan Studies into an influential high-end think tank in the region and even in the whole country.
