The Department of Education of Sichuan Province has recently published the list of provincial award winners of the 2025 Sichuan Provincial Series Activities of Reciting, Writing, Interpreting and Performing Chinese Classics (SARWIP). According to the announcement on the provincial award-winning works of the 2025 Sichuan Provincial Series Activities of Reciting, Writing, Interpreting and Performing Chinese Classics, international students at Sichuan University of Science & Engineering won multiple honors in the Reciting China-Chinese Classics Recitation Competition and the Brush and Ink China-Chinese Character Writing Competition. 

In the "Brush and Ink China" Chinese Character Writing Competition, Vietnamese student LUU THI MY HAO won the Second Prize in the University Student Category with her hard-pen Calligraphy Works “Shuang Shuang Yan: Ode to the Swallows”, demonstrating her outstanding calligraphy skills. Teacher Mu Ruina from the College of International Education won the Second Prize in the Teacher Group, demonstrating the professionalism of SUSE staff in transmitting China’s traditional culture. 

In the International Student Category of the “Reciting China” Chinese Classics Recitation Competition, the recitation work “China in Autumn”(under teacher Mu Ruina’s guidance) and “A Drop of Water in the Yangtze River”(under teachers Shangguan Yangke and Yu Yang’s guidance) won the Merit Award. The recitation of “China in Autumn,” guided by teacher Mu Ruina, was performed by Sivilai Singkeo, Rubanova Anastasiia, Do Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Khamchoypathom Thavone, and Lao Mor. The recitation of “A Drop of Water in the Yangtze River,” guided by teachers Shangguan Yangke and Yu Yang, was performed by Seeyee Jeexiong, Chanthameexai Lavan, Vaxaiyee Sulitar, Saephan Meuylieo, and Maksarova Samandi. 

Our university attaches great importance to international Chinese education and cultural talent cultivation, actively organizing international students to study classics and practice Chinese calligraphy, and deepening the connotation of cultivating talents who “understand, befriend and appreciate China” through practical teaching. These awards not only reflect the excellent comprehensive quality of international students in our university, but also represent another achievement in promoting people-to-people exchanges and advancing the international dissemination of Chinese culture.
