On July 10, the 2025 “Chinese Kinship: Roots-Seeking Journey of China” Summer Camp (Yibin Station), organized by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC), concluded successfully. With the coordination of the Yibin Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Sichuan University of Science & Engineering served as a supporting institution for the event.

Over thirty overseas Chinese youth from Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Austria, and Sweden came to Yibin for the camp, immersing themselves in the unique charm of the “First City on Yangtze River, Liquor Capital of China, South Sichuan Bamboo Sea, and China's Power Battery Capital.” At the landscape of Sanjiangkou (Three-River Confluence), they learned that the three rivers refer to the Yangtze River (Changjiang), the Jinsha River, and the Min River, and that the river is known as the Yangtze River after the Jinsha River and the Min River converge. At Guanying Ancient Street, they watched a Sichuan Opera performance and appreciated the Qing Dynasty residential architecture. They explored the mythological heritage at the Nezha Palace. In the South Sichuan Bamboo Sea, they enjoyed the serenity of one of the largest contiguous natural bamboo forests in the world. In Lizhuang Ancient Town, they immersed themselves in the beauty of the “First Ancient Town on Yangtze River.” The participants also praised Yibin’s local delicacies, such as Sliced Pork with Garlic Sauce and Liang Gao (a chilled rice pudding).

As the camp came to an end, the youths improved their Chinese language skills and gained a better understanding of China’s national conditions and its culture through the Yibin camp activities.
