On June 12, a delegation led by Zhong Xinchun, Dean of the School of International Exchange and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan University of Culture and Arts, visited the School of Fine Arts of Sichuan University of Science & Engineering (SUSE). Discussions focused on topics such as Sino-foreign cooperative education and international exchange development. Li Yongmei, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of SUSE, along with relevant leaders from the School of Fine Arts, attended the meeting in Room 209, Shangmei Building, Li Baihe Campus.

Huang Lei, Dean of the School of Fine Arts at SUSE, introduced the school’s general profile and elaborated on the development of SUSE’s Sino-foreign cooperative education programs since their establishment. By leveraging high-quality international educational resources, SUSE has continuously refined its enrollment promotion strategies and mechanisms, attracting a significant number of outstanding students aspiring for international development. The programs strictly adhere to the talent cultivation plans jointly developed by Chinese and foreign partners, ensuring that teaching content aligns with international standards. Through strengthened teaching process management, an enhanced student support system, and a multi-dimensional quality assurance mechanism, the programs operate effectively with consistently improving educational quality. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality visual arts professionals with international perspectives and innovative capabilities.

Li Yongmei, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, introduced SUSE’s work in international exchange and cooperation, international student education, and foreign faculty management. SUSE consistently prioritizes educational internationalization, actively expanding cooperation channels with overseas universities and promoting diverse academic exchanges and cooperative programs.

Dean Zhong Xinchun shared SCUA’s developments in discipline and program construction, research platform establishment, faculty team building, and Sino-Italian cooperative education programs. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the management systems of Sino-foreign cooperative programs, international academic and research cooperation, enhancement of students’ foreign language proficiency, and optimization of talent cultivation plans.

Both parties expressed the desire to strengthen cooperation based on existing positive interactions and jointly promote the high-quality development of internationalized education.

Following the meeting, Dean Zhong Xinchun and the delegation visited the 2024 Graduate Works Exhibition at the Shangyi Gallery. They highly commended the solid artistic skills and the quality of talent cultivation demonstrated by the students of the School of Fine Arts. They expressed hope that both institutions would continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation, aiming to cultivate high-quality artistic talents with international perspectives and cultural confidence, and to achieve new accomplishments in Sino-foreign cooperative education.
