International students in SUSE hold Chinese corner activities for “Work Safety Month”

On the evening of June 13, the international students of SUSE held a Chinese Corner activity in front of Apartment Building B14, focusing on the theme of “Work Safety Month.”

June 2025 marks the China’s 24th National Work Safety Month, under the theme “Safety is Everyone’s Duty, Emergency Preparedness is a Universal Skill—Find out Potential Hazards.” Guided by the School of International Education, the International Students’ Association at Sichuan University of Science & Engineering held a Chinese Corner activity. During the session, international students engaged in interactive learning of safety-related vocabulary such as “hidden hazard,” “fire extinguisher,” “electrical safety,” “gas leak” through Q&A and sentence-making exercises. They also organized scenario group discussions, such as how to respond to the fires or earthquakes. They actively discussed safety hazards they had found in dormitories, classrooms and campus during the group exchanges. After gaining a better understanding of safety hazards, the association cadres consolidated international students’ safety knowledge through funny, easy, but quick-reacted Q&A game. This activity received guidance and support from the relevant teachers at Yibin University Town and Science & Innovation City Service Center.

Through engaging in the Chinese Corner Activity, the international students not only had reviewed and reinforced safety-related Chinese vocabulary and expressions, but also had a better understanding of the hidden hazards and proper measures. This activity successfully created a positive atmosphere of attention and participation.
